SIM at COP31
Sustainable Investment Management (SIM) will participate in COP31, taking place in Antalya, Türkiye, from 9 to 20 November 2026.
Grace Blackham, BVRio Director / SIM Head of Compliance, will be joining discussions on mobilising private finance for sustainable land use and deforestation-free agricultural production.
On 14 November, from 14:00 to 15:00, Grace will speak on the panel ‘Unlocking Private Finance for Forest-Positive Growth: Scaling Investment in Deforestation-Free Supply Chains’, hosted by the Mobilising Finance for Forests (MFF) partners at the UK Pavilion.
The discussion will explore opportunities to scale investment in forest-positive agricultural supply chains. The event takes place in the COP31 Blue Zone, which requires accreditation. No separate public registration link for the panel has been announced.
On 15 November, Grace will attend the World Climate Summit, taking place from 09:00 to 17:00 at the Royal Seginus Hotel in Antalya. Bringing together business, finance and policy leaders, the summit will focus on accelerating investment and partnerships for climate action. Participants can register to attend in person.
Looking ahead to COP31
SIM particularly welcomes the emphasis of this year's COP31 Action Agenda on Zero Waste, Oceans and Seas, and Food Security, priorities closely aligned with our work on circular economy & waste management, marine litter recovery, responsible commodities & sustainable agriculture and climate policy & finance.
Financing forest conservation will also be a key area of interest, particularly following the Brazilian government's launch, on 3 November 2026, of an international roadmap to halt and reverse deforestation by 2030. The roadmap highlights the need to mobilise private investment through blended finance, while redirecting agricultural finance towards sustainable, deforestation-free production.
As a founding signatory of the Rotterdam TFFF Statement of Support, SIM supports efforts to mobilise long-term finance for tropical forest conservation through the Tropical Forest Forever Facility (TFFF).
These discussions are also particularly relevant to SIM's work in developing and supporting market-based mechanisms that connect sustainable agricultural production with investment opportunities, including the Responsible Commodities Facility (RCF), which provides finance to soy producers committed to deforestation- and conversion-free production in Brazil.
Meet us at COP31
SIM looks forward to engaging with partners on how innovative financing mechanisms, market incentives and practical solutions can help translate climate commitments into measurable environmental impact.
Grace will arrive in Antalya on Thursday, 12 November, and will be available for in-person meetings. Those attending COP31 who would like to arrange a meeting are encouraged to get in touch in advance.
